Brian K. Unruh is Senior Vice President, Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Dotster, Inc. Unruh joined Dotster as CFO in March 2005 and today manages the customer service, finance, accounting, human resources, legal, sales, business operations, and corporate services departments. He brings to Dotster over 20 years of professional expertise in global finance, accounting, and corporate operations.
Prior to joining Dotster, Unruh was Vice President of Accounting and Treasury at Merant Plc., a $125 million public global enterprise software business, where he was responsible for all aspects of worldwide accounting, treasury, and risk management. Unruh was a member of the executive team that revived Merant, restoring the company’s profitability by eliminating $80 million of annual losses and facilitating the organization’s successful acquisition by Serena Software for $380 million.
Before Merant, Unruh was Vice President and Corporate Controller at InFocus Corporation, a then $800 million public global digital projection technology company. During his tenure, Unruh was responsible for finance and accounting management, including corporate services, treasury, finance systems, and investor relations support.
Prior to InFocus, Unruh served in several executive finance and accounting roles at Tektronix, a then $1 billion public global technology company, and in various global tax and business advisory roles for Ernst & Young LLP.
Unruh earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University, became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and later earned certification in Essentials of General Management from Oregon Graduate Institute.
