What DNS servers do I use? If my domain is already registered with Dotster, how do I register my name servers for my VPS?
The VPS is configured to function as nameservers. You'll need to register the nameservers with the IP of the VPS. Here's how to do that on Dotster's system, with a domain registered through us. Otherwise, you'll need to find and follow your domain registrar's directions:
- Open up your account information at Dotster and click the My Domains tab.
- Click the domain name you want to add the nameservers for. (not the checkbox)
- In the Name Servers section, choose the 'Register NameServer' link.
- Enter in "NS1" in the nameserver box and your VPS IP address in the four boxes below that. It will be something like 72.251.13.41, then click update.
- Do the same again for "NS2".
- Set your domain to use the nameservers you just created.
